This is the setup guide from my Muse post. Muse can now work inside HighLevel. I'd connect it, give it one small job, and read every draft before anything goes to a customer.
What Muse for Small Business is
Muse is Meta's AI agent. You give it a goal and it works through the steps in the apps you connect. On September 29, Meta added Muse for Small Business, a set of new skills and connectors for business owners. It lives inside the regular Muse app.
It connects to Asana, Box, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, Granola, HighLevel, Intuit QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Lovable, Notion, Shopify, Slack, Stripe and Zoom. It also connects your Facebook, Instagram and Meta ads accounts in one step.
Meta says nothing publishes, sends or spends without your approval, and you can undo an action after you approve it. Muse keeps an audit trail of what it has done and what it plans to do next. It's free with usage limits, and heavier use needs a paid subscription.
My take: an agent is only as good as what's in your CRM. If your leads are split across texts, DMs and a notebook, get them into one place first. The cleanup checklist below covers it.

Check access
- Muse is open to people 18 and over in the US and Canada.
- Use the Muse app on iOS or Android, or go to muse.ai. Sign in with your phone number or email.
- Open settings to see the full list of connectors. If HighLevel isn't there yet, do the CRM cleanup below while you wait.
Connect HighLevel
HighLevel's developer docs say its LeadConnector app is an official app in Muse.
- In Muse settings, find LeadConnector in the connectors list.
- Sign in with your HighLevel login.
- Pick the sub-account. Choose only the business you want Muse working on.
- Approve the connection.
Per HighLevel's docs, the connection reaches contacts, conversations, calendars, opportunities and more. So Muse can reply to leads, book appointments and update records. It can also delete contacts, which is why I start with drafts.
Meta's approval promise names publishing, sending and spending. It doesn't spell out record edits, so every prompt below tells Muse to ask before it changes anything. You can review or revoke access from your LeadConnector account, and you can disconnect it in Muse whenever you want.
Clean your CRM first
- Get every lead into HighLevel: web forms, ad leads, calls you took on your cell, and DMs.
- Merge duplicate contacts.
- Set one pipeline with stages that match how you sell.
- Fill in missing phone numbers and emails, and flag contacts that have neither.
- Mark anyone who opted out so Muse leaves them alone.
- Write down your hours, services, the prices you quote, and your booking link. Muse will need them.
First jobs to try
Run one at a time. Each is draft-only until you approve.
Use my HighLevel connection. Find contacts who became leads in the last 30 days and have had no message from us in the past 7 days. Skip anyone who opted out, anyone with an appointment booked, and anyone marked won or lost. For each lead, show their name, where they came from, their last message, and a short follow-up reply in my voice. Use only these details: [hours, services, booking link]. Do not send anything, book anything, or change any record. Show me the list and the drafts so I can approve each one.
Use my HighLevel connection. Look at my contacts and pipeline for the past 7 days. Tell me how many new leads came in, where they came from, how many booked an appointment, and which ones still have no reply from us. List the five I should call first and say why. This is a report only. Do not message anyone or change any record.
Use my HighLevel connection. Find customers whose appointment in the last 14 days was marked as showed. Draft a short text asking each one for a Google review. Use their first name, mention the service they had, and include this link: [your review link]. Skip anyone who complained or has an open issue. Do not send anything. Show me every draft first.
Use my Meta ads connection. Look at my active campaigns from the last 14 days. For each campaign, tell me what I spent, how many results it got, and the cost per result. Flag any ad that spent money with no results, and any campaign where cost per result went up this week. Then check HighLevel. How many of those leads show up as contacts, and how many booked? Suggest changes, but do not pause, edit, create, or fund anything. I will make changes myself.
Check it before you trust it
- Pick three leads you know well and compare Muse's list to what HighLevel shows.
- Include a lead you already answered, which Muse should skip, and a contact with no phone or email, which it should flag.
- Read each draft as the customer would. Check names, prices, hours and links.
- Open the audit trail after each run to confirm nothing changed without your OK.
- Approve one message at a time for the first week. Once the weekly summary matches HighLevel, ask Muse to send it every Monday.
This is a suggested pilot. Muse for Small Business just launched, and an agent can misread an instruction, so read anything customer-facing before you approve it.
