Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Matt Moran ("we," "us," "our," or "mattymoe.ai") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit mattymoe.ai, join the Build Library email list, or otherwise interact with our services (collectively, the "Services").

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Email address, when you join the Build Library, fill out a form, or contact us.
• First and last name, when you join the Build Library.
• Optional details, such as your role or other context, if you provide them (for example in a reply or an email).
• Phone number, only if you opt in to SMS communications (see Section 7).
• Communications: anything you send us by replying to an email or writing to us directly.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: pages viewed, links clicked, time spent, referring URL, browser type, device, approximate location (city level, via IP address), and operating system.
• Email engagement: whether you opened an email, what you clicked, and when. This is standard for email service providers.
• The page you signed up from (for example, a specific play), so we know which content brought you in.
• Cookies and similar technologies: small files or values stored in your browser. See Section 9.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Give you access to the Build Library and send AI This Week by Southbeam, the weekly email you signed up for.
• Personalize content and respond to your messages.
• Measure engagement and improve our content.
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or technical problems.
• Comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers who help us operate (see Section 4). They process data on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes.
• Southbeam, Matt Moran's company, which publishes the newsletter. If you ask Southbeam about its services (for example by booking a call), your contact record is stored in Southbeam's customer system.
• Legal authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
• A buyer or successor, in a business transfer. If mattymoe.ai is merged, acquired, or sold, subscribers will be notified.

4. Third-party services we use

These third-party services may process your information. Each has its own privacy policy.

• beehiiv: stores your newsletter subscription, sends AI This Week by Southbeam, and measures email engagement. beehiiv Privacy Policy
• HighLevel (LeadConnector): Southbeam's customer system. It stores your contact record only if you ask Southbeam about its services. HighLevel Privacy Policy
• Vercel: website hosting and basic traffic logs. Vercel Privacy Policy
• Google Fonts: serves the typefaces on this site, which means your browser requests font files from Google. Google Privacy Policy
• Resend: delivers emails sent through any contact or inquiry forms. Resend Privacy Policy
• Porkbun: domain registrar.

5. Data retention

We keep your email address and engagement history for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep a suppression record (so we don't email you again) and may retain anonymized analytics. We delete personal information on request; see Section 8.

6. Data security

We use industry-standard safeguards (TLS in transit, encryption at rest where applicable) to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. SMS and text messages

mattymoe.ai does not currently send SMS messages. If we add SMS communications in the future, you will only receive them if you affirmatively opt in (by providing your phone number and checking a clearly labeled consent box). At that time:

• Message and data rates may apply.
• You can reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe.
• You can reply HELP for support.
• Frequency varies, and not all messages are marketing.
• Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase.

Your phone number will never be sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. SMS consent is collected separately from email consent.

8. Your rights

For everyone

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete your information (right to erasure).
• Unsubscribe from emails at any time with the one-click link in every email footer.
• Opt out of any future SMS messages by replying STOP.

For California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

You have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including:

• The right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell or share.
• The right to delete personal information.
• The right to correct inaccurate personal information.
• The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
• The right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information.
• The right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

For EU and UK residents (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights:

• Right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection.
• Right to withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect prior lawful processing).
• Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Our legal basis for processing is your consent (given at signup) and our legitimate interest in operating the Build Library and its weekly email. We may transfer your data to the United States; we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards where required.

For residents of other US states

If your state has a comprehensive privacy law (for example CO, CT, VA, UT, OR, TX, MT, IA, DE, NH or NJ), you have substantially similar rights to those listed in the California section above. Contact us at hello@southbeam.co to exercise them.

9. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

• Strictly necessary purposes: to operate the site and remember that you've joined the Build Library, so the setups stay open on your device. We store this as a first-party cookie and a browser storage value named mm_library. It holds no personal information. Links in our weekly email end in open=1, which sets the same value in whatever browser opens the link.
• Analytics: to count visits, measure engagement, and improve content (anonymized where possible).

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some site features may not work correctly (for example, you may need to enter your email again). We respect Do Not Track signals where technically feasible.

10. Children's privacy

Our Services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at hello@southbeam.co.

11. International users

We are based in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the US, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using the Services, you consent to this transfer.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, notify subscribers by email or a prominent notice on the site. Continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the updated policy.
