This is the fellowship from my reel. Claude Corps is a one-year, full-time job that Anthropic funds. You get placed inside a nonprofit and spend the year building AI tools with Claude for the people it serves. The details below come from Anthropic's pages and the official application, linked at the bottom.
What you get
- A salary of $85,000 a year, paid twice a month. Your employer for the year is CodePath, a nonprofit that runs the fellowship with Anthropic.
- Medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k), paid holidays and flexible PTO, and life and disability insurance.
- Training before you start, a CodePath mentor, Anthropic trainings and a national group of other fellows.
- Claude API and tooling access for the year.
- A one-time relocation stipend if you're placed outside your current area.
Host nonprofits include Code for America, the International Rescue Committee, RAINN, Goodwill, Year Up United and two YMCAs. The work covers areas like food security, public health, housing and education.

Who can apply
You need all of these:
- You're 18 or older by the time your cohort starts.
- You can work in the US without employer sponsorship.
- You're early in your career: finishing or just finished school or a trade program, leaving the military, or in your first full-time job.
- You already use AI tools in your day-to-day.
- You've built something. It can be small: a website, an automation, a Claude project.
- You have some community, nonprofit or volunteer experience.
- You're open to moving for the year if your best match is somewhere else.
You don't need a degree, and you don't need to know how to code.
Step 1: Take the two free courses
You send proof that you finished both with your application.
Both are free on Anthropic Academy.
Step 2: Fill out the application
- Open the 2027 Claude Corps application.
- Fill in the short form and add your resume and LinkedIn.
- Attach your course completions.
- Answer the two short questions. They ask about something you've built and your community or nonprofit experience. Each answer is 350 words max.
What happens after you apply
Applications are reviewed as they come in. If you move forward, you'll do a take-home assessment using AI tools, a 25-minute call with the team, and a final round of two interviews. All of it happens over video. After that, you get matched with a host nonprofit.
Dates
- The first group of about 100 fellows starts October 19, 2026.
- The open application is for Cohort 3: 600 spots, starting in August 2027.
- The deadline to apply is January 31, 2027.
Claude Corps plans 1,000 fellows across three cohorts: about 100 starting October 2026, 300 in March 2027 and 600 in August 2027.
