Why it matters
Every question on your FAQ page is one fewer call, text or DM you answer by hand. Answers built from real questions also use the same words your customers use when they search.

Steps
- Collect raw questions for 10 minutes. Scroll your email, texts, Instagram and Facebook DMs, and Google reviews. Copy every question a customer asked, in their words, into one note. Typos and all is fine. Aim for 20 or more.
- Collect your real answers. Note your actual policies: pricing approach, service area, hours, booking and cancellation rules, warranty, payment methods, parking. If you don't have a written policy for something, decide it now.
- Open ChatGPT or Claude and paste the prompt below, then your questions, then your policies.
- Review the grouped list. Delete anything you don't want public. Correct any answer that doesn't match what you actually do.
- Ask for a second pass: "Rewrite any answer over 60 words to be shorter, and put the direct answer in the first sentence."
- Paste the final version into a page called FAQ on your website, grouped by the headings the AI suggested. Link to it from your contact page and booking page.
- Set a reminder to add new questions once a month.

I'm building an FAQ page for [BUSINESS NAME], a [TYPE OF BUSINESS] serving [AREA]. Below are (1) real questions customers have asked us, copied as-is, and (2) our actual policies. Please: 1. Merge duplicate or near-duplicate questions. 2. Group them under 3 to 6 plain headings (like "Booking," "Pricing," "Before your appointment"). 3. Rewrite each question the way a customer would type it. 4. Answer each one using ONLY the policies I gave you. Put the direct answer in the first sentence. Keep each answer under 60 words. 5. If a question can't be answered from my policies, don't guess. List it at the end under "I need your answer for these." QUESTIONS: [paste] OUR POLICIES: [paste]
Common mistakes
- Letting AI invent the questions. Generic FAQs ("Why choose us?") don't match what your customers ask. Start from real messages.
- Letting AI fill gaps in your policies. If it says "we offer a 30-day guarantee" and you don't, that's now a promise on your website.
- Expecting special search listings from FAQ markup. Google stopped showing FAQ rich results in Search on May 7, 2026, for all sites. Write the FAQ for customers. The page is still useful, just without the expandable search snippet.
- Burying prices you're happy to share. If most people ask "how much," give a range or a "starting at" answer.
- Writing it once and forgetting it. New questions show up every season.
